Watch the moving bar. A trail behind it is ghosting. A bright halo is overshoot from an aggressive overdrive setting.

How to use the ghosting test
Sit at a normal distance. If the bar smears, raise overdrive one step or lower it if you see coronas. VA panels ghost more than IPS or OLED. Pursuit cameras are more precise; this test is a quick visual.
FAQ
Is ghosting the same as blur?
Sample-and-hold blur exists on every LCD even with fast pixels. Ghosting is extra smear from slow pixel response.
Can software remove ghosting?
Only panel overdrive and a higher refresh rate help. This page cannot reprogram the monitor.
